Biography Chemi Dolkar was born on January 2nd 1998 to a very poor family from the village of Dey, Nepal where her parents settled after leaving Tibet. Chemi says she has 'five brothers and sisters and my parents work as small farmers, but they cannot make enough money to feed us all so they decided to sed me to BCH. At first I didn't want to go and leave my family, but now I know I will receive a proper education and have met many other children like me from very poor families who are looked after here and given good grounding in education. When I grow up I want to be a nurse.
